Welland Hospital Foundation installed the Wall of Loving Memories in 2004 to recognize loved ones who have passed on and in whose memory the foundation has received donations of more than $1,000.

The nameplate contains the deceased’s name, year of birth and year of death. This symbol will serve as a loving tribute to their memory for generations to come.

Donations made in these peoples’ memory helps to ensure that the best possible care is available by purchasing new and replacement equipment, paying for renovations and new construction.

Gifts to the Palliative Care Department are used for special palliative care education and training for volunteers and staff who so ably provide care and support to patients and their families.

Families of those whose donations were less than $1,000 may choose to donate the difference to reach that amount in order to have their loved one’s name placed on the wall.

The foundation was unfortunately not able to locate next of kin for all of the people that would qualify for plaques on the memorial wall.

Anyone wishing to donate $1,000 to have a loved one’s name placed on the wall may also do so.
