  • Welland Hospital Foundation

Welland Hospital Foundation is an independent, charitable organization governed by a dedicated board of community volunteers. The Foundation was established in 1979 through the efforts of local citizens determined to formalize the ongoing efforts to raise money for their community hospital.

The foundation’s sole purpose is to raise money for capital equipment, renovation and construction projects for the Niagara Health System – Welland Hospital Site (formerly Welland County General Hospital).

All donations are directed to the department (fund) as instructed by the donor.  Donations not directed by a donor are used for the area of greatest need.

Funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care provides the basics in healthcare but does not cover the full cost of new medical equipment. Ongoing investment from the community is required to replace outdated equipment, embrace new technology and to support new programs.
